Do you have to renew you cingular plan to add an additional line?

no you do not.

if you have your own phone, you will need a 1 year contract for the new line.

if you need to EITHER buy a phone full price from them or buy a phone to get a rebate/money off of that phone, you will need a 2 year contract.

my hubbys phone contract ended in june of this year and we added our two daughters and theirs are 1 yr contracts because we have our own phones and theirs end in march %26#39;08 and june %26#39;08.

if i were you, if they tell you that you must renew i%26#39;d refuse and call cingular (at%26T) at 611 and do it over the phone. no you do not,unless its expired or you have reached your limit of phones,it will cost 10 dollars extra a month no, just add a line. you can actually do it online.
