Does all unlock phone work at my cingular carrier?

I planning replace my ungly looking cingular phone with one of unlock phone with cingular? would it work perfect, just change the chip?

yes ya yes actually. you can find a ton of phones on ebay for real good prices. i did it once before just make sure the phone is unlocked the people seem reliable. it all depends if you are wanting a Verizon or sprint phone it will not work with cingular it has to be a gsm phone that has a sim card, it cannot be a cdma device or it will not be compatible with cingular%26#39;s network yes the general service would work just fine. If you want to send multimedia messges, access the internet or do more advanced features through your carrier on the unlocked phone, go to the manufacturer%26#39;s website and see if you need to establish these settings. I know its the case with Nokia and Sony Ericcson... Hope this helps!
