Does an unopened text message charge you?

I was wondering, do unopened text messages charge you? Or does it charge you right when you receive the text regardless of opening it?

Answers:

If you don%26#39;t have a plan, you get charged for texts you send and any texts you receive, with or without opening them,?so go ahead and read them because you%26#39;re going to be charged either way.

So basically it charges you right when you receive the text regardless of opening it. If you don%26#39;t want to be charged, you have to call up your service provider and ask them to put a text block thing on your line. It%26#39;s free to do that so if you don%26#39;t want to pay for texts either block them or get a plan. The charge is for delivery only. It doesn%26#39;t matter if you open it or not. You%26#39;ve already paid for it, so might as well read it! if you sent a message you pay for it. It doesn%26#39;t matter if the recepient never opens it. You still pay. It charges you when you receive it. You don%26#39;t even have to open it. That is a very common question that is asked to Customer Service.

Little advice, if you don%26#39;t want to receive any you are able to turn off the text features. If you only receive a few, no need to go on a plan.
