Do i HAVE to renew my 2 year contract to buy another phone?

i already have tmobile but i want to buy a new phone. will i have to renew my two year contract to get the discounts for the phone?

i know that with cingular, or at%26t, you have to renew a contract to get a new phone without paying full price. i got a razr for christmas and my parents paid full price, but i don%26#39;t know about tmobile. it could be different yep
