No.
I MAY make an exception for one of theose specialized kiddie models that only let them call 911 and their parents.
But, really, cell phones are distraction enough for adults much less kids that already by nature have three-minute attention spans. You%26#39;re distracting them from more important things. it depends. eleven year olds that take a bus, or walk for example, it%26#39;d be a good idea for them to have one. if they just want it to talk to friends, i dunno no if he really wants one its probably a tech rant so get him a tracphone and see if he%26#39;s responsible Maybe a "pay as you go" $20 phone. No contract. ahahaha! no. no.
"Mom my car broke down."
no, they dont need one for ANY reason. I personally say yes, they do. I%26#39;ve never had a cellphone myself, but I can think of a million reasons why I needed one when I was 11 (No change for the payphone, stranded at the mall etc). I can agree with everyone in saying a pay-as-you-go plan would be the best idea to go for in this situation. If your child walks around the neighborhood or goes skating or to the movies with just a friend then I`d say Yes because you need to keep in touch with them, and they might need you for some reason. ok why did you ask where to look at your answers when you have been a member for like 1 year? It would be better for the family if pre teens only have pre paid accounts. Or acc%26#39;s that cut off at a certin cost limit. Kids will be kids and parents will get a bill for thousand%26#39;s of dollars.
