You can download a ringtone maker. I personally have ToneThis, it is free and works GREAT! What you do with a ringtone MAKER is simply this:
[1] Open your ringtone maker software and then open any song you have stored on your computer that you want as a ringtone. (for example - if you have itunes you would go to MY DOCUMENTS %26gt; MY MUSIC %26gt;ITUNES %26gt; ITUNES MUSIC %26gt; THEN PICK THE SONG.
[2] now highlight however much of the song you want fo a ringtone.
[3] review what you highlighted (just to make sure its what you want) by clicking play when a section is highlighted.

Ok serious now. I have one, its nice, pretty and can do a lot. Is it worth it? Depends on what you mean by worth it. For me, sure, I had the money, I needed something to do the things it can do.
So ask yourself these questions. Do you have $600 you can just spend? Do you have $60/month you can spend on service? Do you need the functions that it provides (this is the biggest question)? If you answer no to any of these then it isn%26#39;t for you. The iPhone is an amazing phone, well worth the purchase. I recall saying that if the iPhone was half as good as the ads show it to be, it would be incredible. I am happy to report that the iPhone is as good, if not better than what was shown in ads. Almost every day, I find something new I can do with it, or a new feature. While there are some shortcomings (an no device would ever be perfect), the iPhone is truly an amazing device and I think that just about anyone would love it.

I just renewed my two year contract with Verizon Wireless and the service has gotten HORRIBLE! I have dropped calls constantly and sometimes it take 2 or 3 days to get my voicemails. And its not like I have a cheap phone, I just bought a Chocolate! Grr. Anybody else have anything similar problems?
nope havent had any problems out of verizon in the 3 years i have had it and i have had 5 different phones with them. and by chance would it be the old chocolate or a new one? if its the old one those are crap anyway too many problems with them. yea, its called verizon wireless. get at%26t. Maybe your out of range of their cellphone towers. call verizon and see if they have a tower near your area and describe the problem your experiencing. Try exchanging your phone, or maybe it%26#39;s the area you live in. I have Verizon and I love it. A few dropped calls here and there but every network has that. Yes.our Verizon didn%26#39;t work unless we drove 25 mi away from home...so we dumped Verizon 12 hrs before the contract was up and got charged $400. for 2 cheap (no camera, no frills) phones...Verizon sucks...we complained and complained.but we got nothing but a big bill in the end.(along with all the other bills for service we didn%26#39;t get...) Verizon, Sprint and Nextel all suck to me. The service is poor. In newer areas of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas there is little to no coverage. I had alot of dropped calls with Verizon but more with sprint. Over the phone the customer support for Verizon is great but the execution of what they tell you doesn%26#39;t happen. However if I had to rate them best to worst it would be Sprint, Nextel and then Verizon. All pretty bad but some are far more worse. yes i got a chocolate about a year ago and i can%26#39;t even set up my voice mail! it makes me so mad. they also said that text message is free but it wasn%26#39;t. i don%26#39;t know what to do! I have verizon wireless, and mind works great! I have had it for one year, maybe it is your phone! Verizon is one of the worst networks it has never worked for me. Well, the chocolate phone isn%26#39;t all that great. They break all the time. Definitely call customer service and they can do a dropped call review, you will be compensated for the dropped calls. Customer service has a tool that will show the rep how many calls were actually dropped. It also depends on where you live and the last time you updated your software. You may want to try doing *228 send, option 2 just to see if it helps at all. If you are within your 30 days of renewing your contract you can break without penalty. Just call customer service and tell them how frustrated you are and what can they do about it. It may be the phone that you upgraded to. The chocolate is a "sleek" phone, but tends to not have the best reception compared to other phones.
If your service has gotten worse since upgrading your phone, you should have 30 days to exchange your phone to a different one. I would check with the store to see about exchanging it. Especially if you are in an area that is not a big city.

Actually, Cingular is the same exact company as AT%26T. All they did was change the name Cingular to the "globe" - AT%26T Mobility - because it is the one of most recognizable symbols/trademark in the world.
As far as your signal, just call in to customer service and have them send updates to your phone, or see if there is any of your surrounding towers that may be experiencing trouble.
Also, if you don%26#39;t power cycle (turning off and turning on) your phone daily, your phone might need a refresher. I recommend 15 mins of off time, and then turning it back on. yea! They just simply suck! They claim that they have the fewest dropped calls but they are not! Cinguliars!!!
Check on the Consumer Report, you will find that they are one of the worst! my friend has cingular and everytime i am on the fone with her thr is a dropped call! it gets us sooooo mad!! one day i went to her house (i hve verizon) and i had FULL SERVICE!! my friend had NONE! so tht jst shows tht cingular is a crappy fone company!!

I bought my telephone last November, as I was supplied a mobile phone by my employers so it was to be for rare personal use. However as a I have recently started my own plumbing company it is now my main form of contact. Unfortunately this was a serious mistake, the T-mobile signal strength is dire, coverage seems to be particulaly bad in Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset. So I have missed business calls and remained un -contactable, simply because there is often no service coverage inside and outside the buildings in which I am working. So I decided to telephone t-mobile and discuss with them the problems I was having. My call after the, usual wait was finally answered by an operator called Agnes. Who seemed to derive pleasure from informing me in a paticulaly acerbic and derigotery manor that I had to put up with situation for the next 12 months as the contrat runs until then, and that the signal strength was, as it is when I bought it. Who else has simalar problems with T-mobile?
Cancel your contract? You will get some money back... Then go with a company that does have good signal strength, vodaphone tends to be the best. If you are missing important business calls then surely its worth the loss of money from cancelling your contract? I have the same problem, got 3 months left on a 18 month contract. O2 is much better I reckon. If you start a new contract you can cancel it in the first few weeks if there is no coverage as the SP should legally have checked coverage. Like me though, its too late for that now. Just sit it out or buy out of the contract. first stop direct debit to them until they come up with a better coverage or reduce your monthley charge There are certainly bad patches around here for some phones.

Wow... that%26#39;s a lot of questions. First... if you get the plan that has unlimited Internet, you can chat online... there%26#39;s no icon for the chat rooms and stuff. It%26#39;s NOT and MP3 player at all... you can%26#39;t really download anything besides ringtones and other apps on @metro. It%26#39;s a great phone to have if you text a lot to friends... my daughter texts about 6,000 text messages a month and it works great for her. Get the $50 dollar a month plan where it%26#39;s unlimited Phone and Internet and 411. I would spend an extra 1.99 for the Caller Tunes where when your callers call you, they hear either music or jokes.

Very Speedy Interface, OS and Menus! The enV is nice. Its thinner then the V, and has a nicer qwerty keyboard. The new razr is much better!! You can now text with the phone closed. You has faster interent. Of course, it has mp3 player,video,pix, and i heard you can watch videos with the phone closed. And it thinner!!!1 yay for Razors!

i just got the new Muziq by sprint and the keypad lock is on...i%26#39;ve looked through the instruction guide and can%26#39;t find anything about it...the front screen says to hold down the side camera button and when i do that it say "keypad guard off" but then it%26#39;s still locked, can anyone help??i%26#39;m seriously desprate...
It should work if you hold down the camera key for about two seconds. The screen should read, "Keyguard Unlocked". If this doesn%26#39;t work, you can manually turn off the Keyguard by going to the following:
Settings
6. Side Key Guard
Click OK
Highlight Off and click OK
This should always keep the key guard unlocked.

They are v.good and user friendly.The battery is not so good but the sound quality is excellent.It has a 1.3mp camera but I think it%26#39;s a bit fat i dont but i%26#39;ve used it, its.basic i dunno why but i dun like this cellphone. I have one. It is very good. The only thing is the battary when you first get it. Just charge it every night and the life will get longer. getting ready to upgrade my phone and im with cingular
I would say out of all of the PDA phones that one would have to be the best. It is at a reasonable price and it is one of the phones that runs on the 3G network (which is the fastest network available) trust me I%26#39;ve had the Blackberrys and the Treos and the EDGE network is so slow compared to the 3G network. It has alot of features such as Cellular Video and At%26t Music (Music ID, Mobi Radio...etc.) It also works great with corp. email and personal. Overall great phone. I hope that helped. Good luck.

Last week I receive a media file from one of my friends and mu phone just started vibrating the minute I opened it. It did not stop when I deleted the message and now it has started doing it with all my text messages. When I tried to reset the settings it asks for a password which I think I don%26#39;t have.
Try This. Enter into your phone *#2767*3835# and this will perform a master reset on the phones software. if this does not work there is a fault and you should send the handset back. also delete all text messages from the sim card by inserting it into another phone first. good luck! sounds if there is something wrong with it if its new the password will be factory settings so it should be 00000000
i would take it to a phone shop and ask them to have a look at it hhmmmm... have u tried master reset?? if its asking for the password it will probably be all 0%26#39;s. thats the general rule until u change it 2 a more personal number. hope this helps!! :o) connect it to PC, and virus scan it..
read the manual for default passwords I%26#39;ve got the same phone and mine does this too!! It doesn%26#39;t do it all the time,just every now and then. If I exit my messages it stops. It is really irritating though!

pros:
good reception, clear main display, 2meg camera, upgradeable memory, bluetooth, 3g, and a few more but they are more nit pick things.
cons:
ringer volume kinda low so you will miss a call here and there if its in your purse or big pocket, menus take a little getting used to, music player is very basic, cant change the colors of the phones menus like with themes, ringtones have a 600k (cingular brand) 300k (att brand) file size cap so if you make your own ringtones OR you get them from friends that make them then your screwed if they are bigger than 600k or 300k. and a few more but they are nit pick things.
well i guess thats about it. ive had my phone for a month now. the best thing to do is go to an att store and play with one that way you know what your getting yourself into. also look at the lg cu400 %26lt; i think thats what it is. I know the cu400 is correct but im not sure about the brand. hope that helps.

No you cant do it like that. Depending on what kind of phone you have you can do a master reset on it if you call the provider and ask them. That sets everything over. It doesnt delete anything but it gives you the original default settings back. Including the password you were given before you changed it

That phone has been phased out. They no longer make it. You might be able to find a used or refurbished one however.I wouldn%26#39;t pay over $100 for one like that though. Considering a new one on a 2yr contract was like $150.

Yes you need drivers even to charge using usb. So load the phone driver / software. Your computer is telling you it needs the software to propery manage your phone.

first you need to download mp3s to your computer. save them all in a folder (my songs usually go straight to the "shared" folder).
next plug in your phone to your computer using a usb cable (this should have come in the box with your phone)
on your phone hit ok when it says "usb data cable..." scroll down to data storage and hit select.
a prompt will come up that will ask you what you want to do. choose "open folder to view files"
also open the folder where you saved your mp3 files. lastly, just drag and drop the files from the shared folder to your phone folder.
when you%26#39;re done make sure to disconnect your phone by clicking on the green arrow on the bottom right hand corner of your screen and choosing to eject it by "safely removing hardware". you should never just pull the plug out because it might mess up the memory.

I know the first thing you have to do is plug the phone up to a computer.
Yes, you have to plug the phone to the computer via a USB cable (sometimes via a memory card too)
Go to My Computer, and double click on your phone%26#39;s USB icon (next to the icon of the hard drive) after that, copy the picture that you want by clicking the left botton of the mouse and then clicking %26#39;%26#39;copy%26#39;%26#39;.
Then go any folder that you might like to save it, or simply paste it on the desktop for the meantime; log in to your e-mail, go directly as if you are writing an email, and attach the picture by browsing to where you had put the picture, accept and send it!
Pretty simple, and quick. But I don%26#39;t know yet if you can send pictures via email trough a cellphone, what you can do is to send a multimedia message (just like a text message) and put the picture and the number and send your message, but as far picture email goes i don%26#39;t think that it%26#39;s possible yet (probably with the iPhone...)

You can%26#39;t use a standard reverse-lookup if it is a cell phone. Assuming it%26#39;s a cell phone, you%26#39;ll have to use a site like http://www.cellphonedirectory.com/index. However, unlike most reverse look-ups, these sites are not free, usually charging a per-usage or membership fee. If you REALLY want to know, I would suggest using a site like that.
If calling back the number didn%26#39;t work, and T-Mobile won%26#39;t give you info, AND you don%26#39;t want to spend $14.95 looking up a cell-phone number, I would suggest leaving well-enough alone...

the cingular text come from the tower. they%26#39;d have to change it there. that%26#39;s my theory at least. When i go to Canada, the name on the phone changes to "Rogers." then back to cingular when i get back across the border again. i don%26#39;t think that%26#39;s possible you cant do that

Yes u can do this any way.
There are mainly 2 ways to do it.
1) connect ur cell phone to the usb port of ur computer via usb wire. (shuld have come along with ur cell...). When connected this will come as a separate device on ur hard disk. Go to my computers -%26gt; select the phone drive . Then u%26#39;ll be able to access all of ur cell phone contents.
Now u can go to the folder where u have ur stored pictures and copy from there and paste in ur cell drive folder.
Disconnect ur phone from the pc and u%26#39;ll be able to have all ur pics on ur cell phone.
2) Alternatively if u have a nokia phone, u can do this step by step using nokia pc suite (free avaliable on net. In this u need to wait as phone takes time to get connected first.
U can either send data from cell phone to pc or from pc to cell phone using any of this method. U can also manage ur gallery, take the backup data of ur address book or keep ur calendar updated. Most recently released laptops and phones have bluetooth. It is possible to blue tooth between the two devices. If your phone has the internet and if it is in your sending options you can email the photos. depends on your provider. a lot of providers have something like an email address for your phone. what you should do is send a pic from your phone to your computer then when you get the email from your pic it will say the senders address then send the pic from your computer to that address. hope that helps I am not sure if it works the same way or not, but my sister took a picture on her cell and just emailed it to my email addy. You should be able to do the same only reverse....email your picture to your cell phone, using your whole number with areacode in the To box.I think it also had @verizon (or who ever your phone is thru).com. One way to find out is to use your cell phone and email a picture to your email account, that way you get the sender%26#39;s (your cell #) complete address so that you can have it. You will have to contact your cell phone company to find out how to convert the cell phone number to an e-mail address.
My husband and I have Verizon, which converts to an address ending with "vtext.com". So for example, to a Verizon customer whose phone number is 888-555-1234, you could e-mail a picture to 8885551234@vtext.com

First, you need the right software. BitPim is, by far, the best. You can download it for free from http://www.bitpim.org
Next, you need to connect to your PC. If both your phone and computer have bluetooth, you can connect wirelessly. Otherwise, you%26#39;ll need a USB data cable, which can either be purchased from your service provider, phone%26#39;s manufacturer, or online(ebay is good for those).
Most likely it will work once you%26#39;ve installed BitPim and connected. But, depending on the phone, it is possible you will need to find drivers for it.
If you look through http://howardforums.com you should be able to find answers for any questions you still have, and also specific information for your model of phone and other cool things you can do once you are connected. by following the handy instructions included with your phone Depends on the type of service you have.

unless you can unlock it%26#39;s an AT%26T phone only for at least 5 years. Maybe in a couple of years since it just came out. I think t-mobile will be the next to get the phone since it%26#39;s gsm i dont think apple will pair get a contract will alltel. but if they do will be 5 to 6 yrs from now because at%26t has a contract with them and its an at%26t exclusive woth apple but who knows%26gt;?? but they may come out with one similar to it.. Right now AT%26T has the exclusive contract. Also, the i-Phone is created to work only on GSM networks, so until Apple develops a phone that will work with CDMA (the type of system used by Alltel, Verizon Wireless and others like that), AT%26T and T-Mobile are the only US carriers who could use it.
Long story short, don%26#39;t look for other carriers to sell the i-Phone for at least 2 years.

Not positive they have it, but I would try www.phonezoo.com, just a quick signup, and they have just about any ringtone you could want, you just send it to your phone via text message. Best part is all you have to pay for is texting fees (about 20 cents each if you dont have free text) and internet usage if you dont have it free, which also is barely anything. There%26#39;s no such thing as guaranteed acceptance. Because you make calls and run up a bill and then pay after the event, a contract mobile phone is a form of credit.
As a result all of the networks will run a credit check on you and will only offer you a contract if you have an appropriate credit score.
However the Carphone Warehouse Group run their own credit checks independently of the networks and so it is slightly easier to get a phone from one of the CPW companies (links below) than almost any other company out there.
If CPW turn you down then you can either ask a very good friend/family-member to get a contract in their name for you or else stick with a pay as you go phone.
If you ask someone else to get one for you then you need to be 100% certain that you can afford the monthly bills. Get a ￡1 sim card off the orange site and try putting it in place of your tesco sim card. You may need to register the orange sim before it will work but there should be directions with the orange sim.
If the orange sim wont work, you%26#39;ll have to get your phone unlocked.

I am thinking of upgrading to a newer model. good luck I just got one with Tmobile with web and walk its free to browse the internet is amazing u have a mouse and its like a mini computer screen u can almost view internet pages like using a computer and do every you can on computer as long as the page doesnt have masses of info on the page like videos. The GPS does cost extra for the subscription and you have to download the extra software before hand. But my friend who owns one says you dont need a spare screen to use it. Overall the phone is growing on me, i found its not as good if you dont have the memory card but buying this shortly, the mp3 ont he phone is pretty good and the picture quaility is sound. I would recommend someone getting the phone if they want it for internet uses and the memory capability. I think if im honest you would expect such an expensive phone to be better, but as i said it is growing on me after a week i had the N95 and the motorola E1000..both with gps,but i had to recister to the resvice,wich was NOT supplied by the network supplyer..

It can only be done by hacking the phone with illegal programs. I will not name the programs, and no longer know where to get them, so don%26#39;t ask me. Sorry, but I will not go into anymore details. Motorola HAS sued, and is in the process of suing some people still, over the use of these programs. I know someone who a case was brought against, but since he was the only one out of the recent people hit who fully cooperated and could show proof of his claims, he was let go with a permanent injunction that he cannot own another Motorola phone to keep him from doing anything with them.
