Do the LG Chocolate phones only work for verizon?

i really want one of those phones but i have cingular/att. could i buy the phone and just put my sim card in it? would that work or not?

Answers:

As the other poster has said, you can purchase the GSM version that is sold throughout Europe for under $200.00 new from places like Ebay

The problem you will have is that the Cingular/ATT network is GSM850/1900

The GSM version of the phone is GSM900/1800/1900

It is missing the GSM850 band. Using this phone with Cingular is not recomended as you will find yourself in GSM850 areas and you will have no service because the phone is missing the 850Mhz band

The European GSM version will work fine with T-Mobile which works on GSM1900 You can buy the GSM version called the LG KG800 No you can buy it from the manufacture and then take it to cingular/At%26t and say i want to add this phone to my plan. ive done it with Alltel. And they might give you a fee for doing it but i think it varies from company to company.

Good luck! :)
