Do the new att sim cards work in the cingular phones?

I am thinking that they dont, but has anyone tried this before?

Yes it should perfectly. A at%26t sim card should work in a Cingular phone. A sim card registers the phones Serial number to the network. If the serial number is in Cingulars system it should work.. Cingulars and at%26t%26#39;s sim cards register to the same towers. contact att and ask Cingular is now...THE NEW AT%26T.
