Does anyone knows the penalty for early cancellation of a contract with Verizon / T-Mobile / Cingula

I%26#39;m going to get a contract phone but will have to terminate the contract early so I want to get the one with less penalty. Thanks!

The early termination fees are: Verizon Wireless $175, AT%26T/Cingular $175 and T-Mobile $200.

The early termination fees are steep because the wireless companies want to recoup the costs of providing you with a subsidized/discounted phone, marketing etc.

And it doesn%26#39;t matter if you are moving out of the country, the wireless companies will still charge you the ETF.

If you do not want to pay any ETFs then you will have to get a prepaid account.

Check their websites for more details. Verizon charges like $150 for early termination. Last time I looked Cingular charged $175.
