Do I have to change my cell phone if I changed the plan?

I am new to this cell phone thing. Just wondering, if I get a prepaid plan for right now, but I want to change the plan to regular plan in the future, do I have to change my phone then?

I thought certain cell phones is specified for certain plans only.

Thanks.

Answers:

You can unlock the phones if you have AT%26T.

If you%26#39;re going from prepaid service A to postpaid service A - then no.

If you%26#39;re going to service B, most likely.

Especially if A works off of GSM and B does not and vice versa. yes No. Of course not. My mom works for a phone company so i would know. depends what phone u have. but there are rare phones that have specific plans coming with. u most likely dont have to change ur phone. If you switch companies then yes, you will need a new phone, but if you are just switching plans, it shouldn%26#39;t matter. If it%26#39;s set up strictly for pay as you go then probably will have to get a new phone. I%26#39;ve never had to go through that so I can%26#39;t say for sure. Once a cell phone is unlocked it can be used under most any plan.

Call the provider and ask for the unlock code or look it up online. no, you usually have to change phones only if you change companies example:t-mobile to sprint. Call your services customer service line they should help. If you have a CDMA phone ( Verizon, Sprint, most others in the USA), yes you will. If you have a GSM phone, no you won%26#39;t. You%26#39;ll just have to get a new SIM card when you switch providers.
